Aikido, the Art of Peace begins with you. The Art of Peace is medicine for a sick world.
Aikido - the art of peace
Work on yourself and your appointed task in the Art of Peace. Everyone has a spirit that can be refined, a body that can be trained in some manner, a suitable path to follow. You are here for no other purpose than to realize your inner divinity and manifest your innate enlightenment. Foster peace in your own life and then apply the Art to all that you encounter.
One does not need buildings, money, power, or status to practice the Art of Peace. Heaven is right where you are standing, and that is the place to train.
All things, material and spiritual, originate from one source and are related as if they were one family. The past, present, and future are all contained in the life force. The universe emerged and developed from one source, and we evolved through the optimal process of unification and harmonization.
There is disorder in the world because people have forgotten that all things emanate from one source. Return to that source and leave behind all self-centred thoughts, petty desires, and anger. Those who are possessed by nothing possess everything.
Quotes from Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido.

Aikido for life
Aikido for Life is a practice for addressing the issues of daily life effectively. It relates to the self-defining phase of the Medicine Wheel, taking up our sword and walking our own path, moving from adolescent to adult.
- Students learn to resolve all conflict with integrity, respect, body-mind harmony, love and inner peace.
- Whilst based in martial art forms there is no competition. Any physical or other challenge is at an appropriate level for each participant to be able to safely observe their reactions to the challenge, and to be able to develop ever more effective and harmonious responses.
- In Aikido there is no competition. The only possible competition is within oneself. The practice is flexible and applicable to all ages and physical conditions. Any solution matures out of a respect, harmony and alignment with all elements, without conflict.
- As the student learns to resolve Aikido exercises with peace and harmony this becomes directly applicable in daily life. The level and reality of challenge in the exercises grows in relation to the student's personal progress.
- The exercises include: Stretching, KI exercises, KI development in movement, AIKIDO throws, KIAZU healing, KI meditation and breathing – all done at a rhythm and level appropriate to each participant. Work in pairs and small groups helps to apply the learning to real life situations.
