Dance for your Life
Dance for your Life is a way of journeying and liberating yourself through music and movement. Common to many cultures there are a wide range of 'Dance Journey' methods including slow ritualised sacred dances, Five Rhythms and wilder ecstatic trance dance.
We use a dance which works through natural life cycles of movement, birth and death, order and chaos to realign ourselves with our vital nature. It is a Medicine Wheel in movement. This is the Shamanic Way, continually dying and being reborn into the unknown, letting go of the mind and control, letting go of knowing what we are doing, letting go of techniques, to step into a greater spiritual consciousness. We do not dwell on any difficulties, but we must not fight against them or repress them with our mental concepts of 'what should be happening'. When we can allow ourselves to flow with whatever is happening then they become gateways for our transformation, gateways to deep ecstasy and wisdom. Something dies to make way for the new. This trust in the journey of the dance liberates the divine in each person.
Norman maintains a safe holding space in the dance so that we can trust the spontaneous dialogue between the body and the music to guide us on our personal journey of discovery. When we relax and let go into the dance, we discover that we are able to “ride the Tsunami”. In these workshops we discover that we are not alone with our crises. The other participants and all the natural universe live similar experiences. We create a safe and loving space for this amazing transformation and new birth to happen.
